作者：healthy 【中央社 】 根據聯合國愛滋病計劃署(UNAIDS)的研究，目前全世界有四千萬名愛滋病帶原者，去年一年就增加了五百萬名，顯示了雖然全球共同努力對抗愛滋病，但是仍然無法有效遏止蔓延。 UNAIDS警告，世界各國必須要有長程的解決方案，其中包括疫苗。在洛桑大學醫院負責研究愛滋病疫苗的潘達里奧表示，目前有幾種疫苗看起來前景不錯，但還須要進行臨床或先進實驗，可能要七、八年後才知道實際效果。 他說，發展有效疫苗有許多障礙，必須要找出如何模擬生展可以對抗病毒的抗體，但是目前仍無從了解，現有實驗中的疫苗只能攻擊被感染的細胞，無法阻絕HIV傳染。 潘德里奧並批評歐洲國家對愛滋病的研究不如美國。他說，美國政府提供了六億五千萬美元的研究經費，「蓋茲基金會」也贊助四億美元，美國提供了百分之八十六的愛滋病疫苗研究經費，反觀歐洲只有百分之十二。 他表示，全世界應加強愛滋病研究的合作與協調，但是歐洲顯然反應消極。
